Job summary

Anacura Group in Ghent seeks a QA Officer to be the primary contact for medical laboratory staff on quality matters and to maintain and improve the quality system in line with ISO 15189 and clinical biology practice guidelines.

You will monitor quality documents, investigate deviations, and support audits while providing QA training. The role includes collaboration on eQMS projects and requires at least 80% full-time hours, reporting to the QA Manager.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a scientific field and experience in a quality assurance environment.
• Team collaboration and constructive communication are essential.
• Analytical, systematic and meticulous work style with attention to quality and practicality.
• Independent, responsible, with interest in improving processes and documentation.
• Excellent command of Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for medical laboratory staff on quality matters.

• Document and investigate quality deviations, complaints, changes; initiate CAPAs and track progress.
• Review method validation and related raw data.
• Conduct internal audits and report to ensure quality of analyses and services; assist with external audits.
• Provide QA training to lab staff and promote quality-conscious practices.
• Collaborate on projects within the Quality Department to improve eQMS processes and workflows.
• Work at least 80% of full-time hours and report to the QA Manager.

Role

• As a QA Officer, you and your colleagues serve as the primary point of contact for medical laboratory staff regarding quality matters.
• You help maintain, implement, and improve the quality system within the lab in accordance with applicable quality guidelines and regulations (ISO 15189, clinical biology practice guidelines).
• You monitor the management of quality documents in the electronic system.
• You provide support in documenting and investigating quality deviations, complaints, and changes, as well as in initiating corrective and preventive actions, and you monitor their progress.
• In addition, you conduct reviews of method validation and other documents, as well as the associated raw data.
• You will conduct internal audits throughout the entire process and report on them to ensure the quality of the analyses and services. You will also assist the QA Manager in preparing for, organizing, and overseeing external audits.
• You will provide QA training to (new) lab staff and raise their awareness of quality-conscious practices.
• Finally, you'll have the opportunity to actively collaborate on a project basis with the lab and other departments within the organization from within the Quality Department, with the goal of continuously improving the quality of our services. In this role, you'll support the management and optimization of the eQMS by monitoring existing processes and workflows, as well as setting up and digitizing new ones. You'll assist colleagues in using the system and continuously seek ways to make processes more efficient and user-friendly.
• You will work at least 80% of full-time hours and report to the QA Manager.

Profile

• You hold a master’s degree—or have equivalent experience—in a scientific field and have prior experience in a quality assurance department or are familiar with the day-to-day operations of a (preferably medical) laboratory.
• Your colleagues know you as a true team player who enjoys collaborating and communicates constructively.
• You work analytically, systematically, and meticulously, with an eye for detail. You value quality but never lose sight of practical feasibility, and you always seek pragmatic solutions.
• You work independently, take responsibility, and enjoy bringing structure to processes and documentation. In addition, you are curious, eager to continue learning, and actively seek opportunities to continuously improve processes and results.
• You have an excellent command of Dutch.
