Pauwels Consulting is seeking a Project Manager to support its engineering and automation department in Belgium. You will oversee the portfolio of complex process equipment projects and lead the design of GxP-compliant automation systems, including historian integration, PLC, and HMI connectivity.

The role requires a Master’s in engineering, 10+ years of relevant experience (5+ in PM or leadership), and a strong pharma/biotech GMP background.

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in project management or leadership
• Background in pharmaceuticals or biotech with GMP environments
• Technical experience in automation systems, historian integration, and PLC/HMI connectivity
• Proactive communicator with stakeholder engagement, transparency, and accountability
• Fluent in English with high Dutch proficiency

Responsabilités

Our client, a leader in the life sciences industry, is seeking a Project Manager to support their engineering and automation department. This role focuses on overseeing process equipment projects and ensuring the successful delivery of complex technical solutions within a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Manage long-term project planning and oversee the department's portfolio of engineering projects.
• Lead the design of GxP-compliant automation systems, including historian integration, PLC, and HMI.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to represent engineering projects and ensure alignment on priorities.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide technical guidance and support knowledge management through gap analyses and training for junior personnel.
• Address complex technical challenges and risks to maintain the progress of critical departmental activities.
• Assisting project engineers in applying standard principles and managing individual engineering work packages.

• You have a Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• You bring 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5+ years in project management or leadership.
• You possess a strong background in pharmaceuticals or biotech with a proven affinity for GMP environments.
• You have technical experience in automation systems, historian integration, and PLC/HMI connectivity.
• You're a proactive communicator with a mindset focused on stakeholder engagement, transparency, and accountability.
• You are fluent in English with a high level of Dutch.
