Niko is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead R&D projects in Antwerpen, Belgium. The successful candidate will manage projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery on scope, timing, and quality. Wygwam, a division of the Niko Group, is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions across various sectors. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead cross‑functional projects throughout their full lifecycle, from ideation and development to industrialization and market launch.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and manage R&D projects end‑to‑end, ensuring delivery on scope, timing, budget, quality, and business objectives.
  • Define, align, and formalize project requirements with stakeholders, including business, technical, legal, regulatory, functional, and non‑functional needs.
  • Structure projects in line with PMO governance, including intake, planning, reporting, risk management, and change control.
  • Support Product Management in building business cases and preparing project kick‑offs.
  • Drive project planning, milestone follow‑up, resource coordination, and transparent status reporting.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across design, mechanical, hardware, software, testing, and industrialization activities.
  • Facilitate decision‑making on priorities, trade‑offs, risks, dependencies, and make‑or‑buy scenarios.
  • Monitor project financials and ensure alignment with Finance, PMO, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations effectively and promote strong collaboration across teams.
  • Ensure proper project closure, including evaluation and lessons learned.
  • Frequently report, in a structured way to stakeholders and the management team, follow‑up with the project team to secure the agreed objectives.
Profile

Technical skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in R&D, engineering, or product development environments.
  • Proven track record in delivering engineering or R&D projects from ideation through industrialization and launch.
  • Good knowledge of project management methodologies such as Prince2 and/or PMI; Agile experience is a plus.
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of hardware, software, and mechanics in a product development context.
  • Experience in electronics/hardware development is an advantage; coordination of software development is a plus.
  • Comfortable with budget follow‑up, risk management, and structured project reporting.
  • Technical affinity with products required
  • Experience in building automation, commercial or residential, is considered as a plus.
