Vivid Resourcing is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join an R&D environment and deliver electronics development projects from concept to production in Belgium.

You will coordinate electronics, embedded software, mechanical and systems teams, ensuring alignment on timelines and priorities while managing risks, budgets, and stakeholder communications. The role also involves preparing project plans, reporting to management, and driving the transition from development to industrialisation.

We are looking for an experiencedProject Manager to join an R&D environment and take responsibility for the successful delivery of electronics development projects. You will manage projects from the initial concept and definition phase through development, testing, validation and, where applicable, industrialization and production.

In this role, you will act as the central point of coordination between different engineering disciplines and stakeholders. You will work closely with electronics, embedded software, mechanical and systems engineers, ensuring that everyone is aligned on project objectives, timelines and priorities.

The projects will involve the development of new and innovative electronic products and technologies, making this a varied role within a highly technical R&D setting. You will be responsible for establishing project plans, monitoring progress, managing resources and budgets, identifying risks and ensuring that key milestones and deliverables are achieved.

A key part of the position will be maintaining clear communication across the organisation. You will coordinate project meetings, provide regular updates to management, manage dependencies between teams and ensure that potential issues are identified and addressed at an early stage. You will also work with external suppliers, development partners and customers where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple electronics R&D projects from concept and specification through development, validation and production.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones and deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including electronics, embedded software, mechanical and systems engineers.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, resources, risks and dependencies.
• Organise project meetings and ensure clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify potential project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with engineering teams to track technical development, testing and validation activities.
• Coordinate external suppliers, development partners and other third parties where required.
• Ensure project documentation, reporting and planning are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate project status, challenges and key decisions to management and relevant stakeholders.
• Support the transition of successful R&D developments towards production and industrialisation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and methodologies.

Your Profile

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Management or a related technical discipline.
• Previous experience managing electronics, electrical or other technical R&D projects.
• Strong understanding of product development and engineering processes.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Good understanding of electronics development, testing and validation.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Confident communicator who can work effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
