Job summary

Qover, a Brussels-based InsurTech, is seeking a Privacy and Legal Counsel to join the legal and privacy teams. The role blends law, technology, data protection, and insurance, providing strategic legal guidance to shape business direction and ensure services meet evolving regulatory frameworks.

You will work at the intersection of data protection, technology licensing, and regulatory compliance, supporting the DPO and Compliance officer while fostering innovation across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Master in law-related field or data protection.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in privacy matters or DPO departments.
• CIPP/E, CIPM or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Fluent in English and any other EU language.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on data privacy, regulatory compliance, and tech-related contracts.
• Support privacy compliance programs and GDPR adherence.
• Draft, review and negotiate technology licenses, vendor agreements, and data-sharing contracts.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise on impact and actions.
• Assist the Compliance officer on regulatory monitoring and financial crime compliance.
• Support the DPO on DSARs, data breaches, DPIAs, and processing activities.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and respond to inquiries.
• Develop internal training on legal compliance and privacy best practices.
