Portima is seeking an in-house Legal Counsel to ensure regulatory compliance for its insurtech solutions within the Belgian framework. The role collaborates with IT Sourcing, Procurement and the DPO, translating insurance law into actionable guidance for Product, IT and Business teams.

Responsibilities include contract review, HR/legal documents, and coordination of external counsels for litigation. A Master’s in Law and strong knowledge of IDD/FSMA are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law (Belgian) is mandatory.
• Solid expertise in Belgian insurance law (IDD/FSMA) gained in relevant sectors.
• Ability to review and challenge commercial contracts with external support as needed.
• Working knowledge of GDPR/data protection and general business/contract law.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal advisory and regulatory compliance for Portima solutions and ensure alignment with Belgian insurance framework.
• Review and validate client and partner contracts, HR documents, and IT/service supplier contracts.
• Coordinate litigation activities with external counsels and internal stakeholders when required.
• Identify regulatory needs (DORA, AI Act, GDPR) and translate requirements into concrete recommendations for Product, IT and Business teams.
