Job summary

BDO Belgium is seeking a Manager Strategy & Transformation – Payments to lead transformation programs for financial institutions, focusing on digital payments, open banking and instant payments. Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years relevant experience in payments, banking transformation, financial services consulting or fintech.
• Understanding of digital payments, open banking, instant payments and regulations affecting institutions.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory questions into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Fluency in English with strong Dutch and French in multilingual Belgian environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead payments transformation projects from approach and planning to implementation and follow-up.
• Advise financial institutions on digital payments, open banking, instant payments and emerging methods.
• Assess regulatory developments (PSD2, PSR, FIDA) and translate into practical actions.
• Conduct gap analyses and identify opportunities to improve processes, services and operating models.
• Guide clients through change and adoption of new solutions within their organisation.
• Manage project teams, monitor quality and progress, and mentor colleagues.
• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional BDO support.
