Job summary

Jan De Nul Group in Aalst, Belgium, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will design and follow production drawings for dredging equipment, fleets and offshore structures, from preliminary concepts to 2D/3D production drawings.

You will be part of the Marine Design and Engineering department, collaborating across internal teams to meet design constraints, implement modifications, and prepare the technical design package for logistics, maintenance and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electromechanical engineering or industrial product design.
• Several years' experience designing steel or machine constructions.
• Knowledge of Siemens NX, AutoCAD and PTC Windchill is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Designing preliminary concepts.
• Drawing up designs of components and steel structures in 2D and 3D from initial design to production drawings.
• Supporting ship construction in obtaining preliminary design for new builds.
• Preparing the technical design package for logistics, maintenance and production.
• Implementing design modifications and keeping data up to date.
