Job summary

Jan De Nul seeks a Marine Design Engineer to provide technical design calculations for new and converted vessels. You will design project-specific installations such as cable laying equipment and offshore constructions, and lead hydrodynamics and motion analyses for various operations.

You will prepare specifications and consult with internal teams to determine constraints, operating conditions, and functionality, contributing to safe and efficient marine projects world‑wide.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering sciences with a naval architecture/shipbuilding orientation.
• Experience with calculation methods, software and theory applicable to vessel design and hydrodynamics.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design calculations for new and existing vessels.
• Design project-specific installations like cable laying equipment and offshore constructions.
• Lead project-specific hydrodynamics, motion analysis, lifting operations and mooring calculations.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for other departments (purchasing, logistics).
• Consult with internal departments to determine design constraints and operating conditions.
