Job summary

Jan De Nul Group, based at our Aalst head office, is looking for an Offshore Procurement Engineer to link engineering, project teams and an international supplier network. You will ensure materials are available under optimal conditions, within budget and on time.

You will influence procurement strategies from RFP to execution at sea, leveraging technical knowledge, commercial flair and analytical insight to drive project value. Regular international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Experience in offshore or cable procurement is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and develop yourself continuously.
• Strong communication, commercial, and analytical skills for strategic project procurement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and safeguard the project-specific procurement strategy aligned with technical requirements, timing and budget.
• Search worldwide for new suppliers, assess them on quality, risk and cost, and build sustainable collaborations.
• Advise project and engineering teams on equipment and spare parts during the award phase.
• Closely monitor market prices and trends and use that knowledge strategically in negotiations.
• Contribute to DBFM, D&B and EPC projects in close cooperation with the project team.
• Negotiate contracts and build long-term relationships with suppliers globally.
