Job summary

Jan De Nul Group is seeking a Project Engineer in the Operations Support team in Aalst, Belgium. You’ll ensure dredging projects kick off strong, safe and efficiently from day one by turning plans into actionable execution frameworks, coordinating with contractors and internal teams, and guiding mobilisations.

With a degree in engineering and at least four years of dredging experience, you will communicate clearly in English (Dutch a plus) and thrive on planning, problem solving, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial or civil engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of dredging project experience.
• Fluent English; Dutch or other languages are a plus.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine execution plans based on input from tender engineers, coordinating with contractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate with internal departments to define a clear plan and division of roles.
• Work closely with the Construction (Works) Manager Dredging Operations Support on the project.
• Oversee communication among all parties to ensure safe, cost-efficient execution.
• Produce detailed operational requirements and equipment lists for mobilisation and start-up.
• Respond quickly to problems and collaborate across departments to find solutions.
• Share best practices to improve processes within the team and across the organisation.
