Jan De Nul Group seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive preliminary and detailed design for dredging equipment, vessels and offshore structures. You will translate concepts into producible 2D/3D drawings within the Marine Design and Engineering team.

The role requires a bachelor degree in electromechanical engineering or industrial product design, several years in steel/construction design, and solid CAD knowledge (Siemens NX, AutoCAD, PTC Windchill). Offshore projects may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electromechanical engineering or industrial product design.
• Several years of experience in the design of steel or machine constructions.
• Strong mechanical and CAD design skills with good technical understanding.
• Experience with marine design, ship or offshore structures is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Design preliminary concepts and author production drawings for dredging equipment and offshore structures.
• Consult with internal departments to determine design constraints and feasibility.
• Create 2D/3D designs of components and steel structures from concept to production drawings.
• Support ship construction with preliminary designs for new builds.
• Prepare the technical design package for logistics, maintenance and production.
• Implement design modifications and keep design data up to date.
