NEBIRU seeks a freelance Functional Analyst to transform business requirements into structured IT solutions, covering UI, business logic and database architecture. You will design end-to-end workflows for contract management, claims and financial processes in COBOL + SQL environments.

You will bridge business and technical teams, review COBOL code, run SQL queries, and lead functional/integration testing while coordinating Agile/Waterfall projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s in IT/Engineering or related.
• 5-8 years as Functional Analyst or Lead Functional Designer in regulated environments.
• Hands-on COBOL and SQL Server experience with legacy systems.

Responsabilités

What You'll Do

• Translate high-level business requirements into structured IT solutions (UI, business logic, database architecture).
• Design end-to-end functional workflows for contract management, claims, and financial processes in a COBOL + SQL environment.
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders, developers, and testers to ensure alignment.
• Review COBOL source code and write SQL queries to validate logic, data integrity, and system behavior.
• Define and execute functional/integration test cases and troubleshoot production incidents.
• Coordinate technical teams during implementation and support Agile/Waterfall project methodologies.

What You Bring

• Master’s/Bachelor’s in IT, Engineering, or scientific fields (or equivalent experience).
• 5-8 years as a Functional Analyst or Lead Functional Designer in complex and regulated environments.
• Hands-on experience with COBOL, SQL Server, and legacy system modernization.
• Proven ability to design large-scale IT solutions and interact with technical/non-technical teams.
• Autonomous, solution-oriented, and quality-driven mindset with strong communication skills.
