Job summary

ING Belgium is seeking a Solution Architect with experience or broad interest in Know Your Customer (KYC). The focus is on establishing resilient solution architectures for business and IT problems in line with ING Belgium and Group strategy.

You will collaborate with IT and Business stakeholders, guide engineers and Domain Architects, and translate requirements into designs that deliver customer value quickly.

Qualifications

• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in solution architecture, software engineering, or IT delivery.
• Affinity with architectural practices, solution design, and translating business requirements into sustainable technology solutions.
• TOGAF, ArchiMate, and/or Public Cloud certifications are considered a plus.
• Broad interest in banking technology, with knowledge of Know Your Customer (KYC) being an asset.
• Proficient in English (ING's corporate language) and Dutch or French.
• Strong behavioural competencies: collaboration, communication, stakeholder management, innovation, and the ability to navigate complexity and drive pragmatic decision-making.
• Strong technical competencies with attention to architecture principles, data, privacy, security, scalability, performance, resilience, cost and ethics. Able to work autonomously and act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner for engineers, product teams, and fellow architects.
• Ability to design end-to-end solutions, balance functional and non-functional requirements, and document architectural decisions in a clear and structured manner.

Responsibilities

• You collaborate with IT and Business stakeholders to recognize dependencies and align activities.
• You guide engineers and Domain Architects to deploy the design.
• You translate business requirements into sustainable technology solutions that deliver customer value quickly.
• You define and align roadmaps between squads – from same or different Tribes – and other parts of the organization.
• You act as the connecting pin between colleagues with diverse expertise, including IT Integrators, Architects, Engineers, Product Owners and more.
