SOFICO, Ghent, Belgium, is seeking a Software Engineer - Java Backend to help evolve the Miles platform. You will design, implement and own backend services in a cloud-native, microservice architecture, collaborating with an international team.

You’ll work on scalable Java backend components, APIs, and integrations, with a focus on clean design, testability and security. We offer a hybrid work model and a comprehensive onboarding program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of backend software development with Java.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and NoSQL datastores.
• Proficient with Git, Maven and CI tools.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop and evolve Java backend services within Miles.
• Translate business domains into well-designed software using DDD.
• Build reusable capabilities for diverse customers and markets.
• Design RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Own features from design to testing and deployment.
• Follow SSDLC with security‑first mindset.
