Job summary

ThoughtLabs Belgium seeks an experienced technical lead to own IT implementations from design through deployment and operations. You will translate business needs into technical specs, contribute to architecture, and ensure solutions meet security and IT standards.

In a MS-oriented environment (.NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server), you will drive cloud and integration initiatives, coordinate with stakeholders, and guide teams across delivery and operations with a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Fluent English and French or Dutch required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in IT, CS, Engineering or equivalent by experience.
• At least five years leading IT projects or solution delivery in a MS tech stack.
• Strong cloud/integration knowledge (Azure, APIs, containerization, cloud patterns).
• Experience with fit-gap analyses, requirements, and software selection.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for the IT implementation of the assigned projects, taking ownership of technical activities from solution definition through implementation, deployment and operations.
• Challenge, validate, and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Contribute to solution architecture and ensure technical solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements while adhering to internal IT, security, and technology standards.
• Coordinate with internal functional and technical platforms throughout both delivery and operational phases.
• Provide technical expertise on software components and advise on technology choices, resource needs, and IT budget estimates.
• Lead the build, deployment, and operational support of custom-developed solutions, primarily based on Microsoft technologies such as .NET.
• Manage the integration and adaptation of off-the-shelf (OTS) solutions within the broader IT landscape.
• Perform fit-gap analyses and contribute to technical evaluations, RFI/RFP processes, and software selection activities.
• Support incident, problem, and maintenance management by monitoring suppliers, SLA/KPI performance, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• You are able to speak, read and write fluently English and French or Dutch.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
• At least five years of relevant experience in technical leadership, solution delivery, application management or IT project implementation, preferably within a Microsoft-oriented technology landscape (e.g. .NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server).
• Good understanding of modern cloud and integration technologies, preferably including Microsoft Azure, APIs, containerization and cloud-n solution patterns.
• Experience with fit-gap analyses, requirements definition, and software selection processes.
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles, security standards, compliance requirements, and IT service management processes.
• You have a good knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams and engaging with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, autonomous, customer-focused, and collaborative.
• Experience within the electricity sector is considered a plus.
