V-IT NV is seeking an Information Management Specialist to drive data governance and catalog initiatives. You will collaborate with ICT and business stakeholders to implement ontologies, metadata standards, and documentation practices across projects.

The role requires strong communication, workshop facilitation, and a proactive, self-directed mindset. Onsite in Vlaams-Brabant with three days per week, plus remote flexibility, for a one-year assignment with possible extension.

Responsabilités

• Drive and support information management projects through cross‑institutional collaboration.
• Lead the adoption of the data catalog and business glossary within workflows.

• Assist in preparing Data Management Plans and oversee implementation in projects.

Information Management Specialist

Assignment Duration: 1 year with the possibility of extension

Desired Start Date: 24/09/2026

Work Regime: Full-time

Location: Onsite presence in Flemish-Brabant required 3 days a week, with flexibility to work remotely from home.

Responsibilities:

• Drive and support by implementing principles through cross-institutional collaboration and information management projects.
• Lead the business adoption of the data catalog and business glossary, ensuring integration intoworkflows.
• Guide in managing information assets using workshops, visual tools, training materials, and various communication channels.
• Assist in preparing and completing Data Management Plans and oversee their implementation within relevant projects.
• Collaborate with ICTand business stakeholders to gather needs, create prototypes, and validate tool capabilities.
• Collect structured feedback, user insights, and improvement recommendations for information management tooling.
• Identify and develop improvements to policies, guidelines, standards, processes, templates, terminology, and metadata.
• Design, set up, and structure document libraries that support the information lifecycle.
• Define and maintain ontologies to bring coherence to terminology and definitions, creating a supporting reference data management tool.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to analyze information structures, processes, and metadata.
• Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and visual — including the ability to explain complex concepts using diagrams and structured presentations.
• Comfortable aligning diverse stakeholders and facilitating workshops, building and maintaining a strong network.
• Self-directed and ownership-driven, adaptable and resilient, with a creative problem-solving mindset.
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of work experience or demonstrated high potential as an analytically strong junior.
• Affinity and interest in information/data governance and metadata management.
• Working proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• SharePoint expertise is considered a great plus.
• Experience in software tool development is considered a plus.
• Real experience setting up SharePoint or using Power BI is a plus.
