Sofico Ghent, Belgium, is seeking a Software Engineer - Java Backend to join the Product Engineering team and help evolve the Miles platform. You’ll design and build Java backend services, APIs and scalable capabilities used across markets.

Bring 2+ years of backend Java experience, a mindset for reusable software, and fluency in English to collaborate in an international environment. Hybrid working with strong DevOps practices awaits.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Experience with Java (Java 17 or Java 21) and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with microservice-based architectures and DevOps practices.
• Good understanding of clean, maintainable software design.
• Knowledge of SQL, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with development and DevOps tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Fluent English and ability to collaborate in an international environment.

Aufgaben

• Design, develop and evolve Java backend services within the Miles product ecosystem.
• Translate complex business domains into well-designed software solutions using Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Build reusable product capabilities serving multiple customers, markets and use cases.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrations between services and platforms.
• Own what you build from design to deployment and continuous improvement.
• Build scalable, cloud-native solutions with CI/CD, containerization, and automated testing.
