Job summary

Nexans in Belgium is seeking an HR Generalist to partner with the HR Manager and support employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle. You will handle personnel administration, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, and ensure Belgian social legislation is applied, while driving internal communication initiatives.

You will also coordinate payroll with SD Worx, manage Protime, support training and talent development, and help foster a constructive social climate on the shop floor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR management or equivalent
• 3–5 years in a generalist HR role
• Solid understanding of Belgian labour and social legislation
• Strong analytical skills and proactive contribution to HR process improvement
• Independent, organized and solution-oriented
• Experience with Protime and/or SD Worx is an asset
• Native Dutch speaker with good French and English
• Able to handle confidential information and work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Manage full employee administration from A to Z, including contracts and onboarding/offboarding
• Ensure accurate follow-up of absences and leave requests
• Guarantee accuracy and updating of HR data
• Coordinate payroll data with SD Worx and prepare payroll data
• Manage time and attendance system Protime and support managers
• Coordinate recruitment and onboarding/offboarding for blue-collar and white-collar staff
• Serve as first point of contact for daily HR matters
• Provide guidance on social legislation, policies and HR procedures
• Build relationships to maintain a constructive social climate
• Prepare and participate in Works Council and CPPT meetings
• Coordinate training programs and talent development initiatives
• Manage occupational health files and monitor long-term absences with external partners
• Support wellbeing, engagement and retention initiatives
• Maintain visible presence on the shop floor with operational teams
• Stay updated with Belgian labour legislation and its application
• Participate in HR projects (training plans, mobility, CLAs, HR reporting, continuous improvement)
• Contribute to internal communications via publications and events
