Job summary

European Space Agency in Redu, Belgium seeks a Hardware Security Evaluation Engineer within the System Security Section to advance hardware security evaluation capabilities across space, ground and user segments. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field with 3 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s with 4 years of experience.
• Hands-on hardware hacking, exploitation and security assessment across IT and embedded-system technologies.
• Knowledge of security standards including FIPS 140-3, Common Criteria, ENISA, ISO and ETSI.
• Experience with firmware extraction and reverse engineering is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Project Manager with recommendations and plans for hardware security evaluation lab capability.
• Providing regular status reports to the Project Manager.
• Advising national customers and ESA experts on hardware security options and maturity.
• Deriving technical requirements and evaluating proposals for security design and implementation.
• Fostering innovative security concepts and capabilities within the project scope.
• Staying updated on emerging threats and industry trends.
