Job summary

European Space Agency in Belgium seeks a Hardware Security Evaluation Engineer to strengthen national capabilities. The role covers end-to-end security assessment of hardware, lab capability development, and collaboration with ESA experts and national customers.

You will work on test plans, vulnerability analysis and security certification activities within a highly technical team. The position requires hands-on hardware security experience, knowledge of side-channel and fault analysis, and

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in hardware hacking and security assessment across IT and embedded systems.
• Knowledge of side channel attacks, differential power analysis and correlation power analysis.
• Familiarity with embedded system characterization, probing techniques and fault modelling.

Responsibilities

• Assess hardware security vulnerabilities across IT and embedded systems.
• Develop test plans and evaluation laboratory capabilities.
• Advise national customers and ESA experts on hardware security options.
• Review security design, development, implementation, qualification and validation proposals.
• Monitor threats, exploits and industry trends in hardware security.
• Contribute to related technical activities within area of expertise.
• Provide regular reporting to project management on status and progress.
• Engage with stakeholders to mature hardware security evaluation capabilities.
