Jobtailor in Brussels seeks an experienced newsroom editor to provide hands-on pre-publication guidance and final edits on sensitive reports. You will help develop policies, training materials, and quality controls across the European desk, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Collaborate with journalists across teams, calmly juggle multiple priorities under pressure, and mentor editors to uphold rigorous standards of reporting, style, and ethics in every story.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English.
• Experience editing sensitive stories preferred.
• Ability to calmly juggle multiple tasks in stressful situations.
• Desire to collaborate with journalists across the newsroom.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a hands-on editor offering pre-publication guidance on reporting.
• Provide a final edit on sensitive content.
• Address and resolve issues related to journalism after publication.
• Help research and write newsroom policies and stylebook entries.
• Assist in designing training programs for POLITICO journalists.
• Ensure quality controls are in place across the newsroom.
• Collaborate with teams across Europe, North America and Australia.
