The editor will work with reporters and editors on sourcing, reporting questions, and final edits of sensitive content, while helping write newsroom policies and style guidelines.

Job Description: POLITICO is looking for an experienced editor of impeccable judgment to play a leading role on our growing global standards and ethics team to ensure the integrity of our journalism across all platforms. This hands‑on editor will work side‑by‑side with reporters and assigning editors discussing sourcing and reporting questions as they develop and helping all journalists resolve knotty ethical questions as they arise. They will provide a final edit on some of our most sensitive content, whether that’s a story, blog post or newsletter item, and address questions internally and externally post‑publication as needed. This senior‑level editor will also take a leading role in writing and updating newsroom policies and stylebook entries to offer clear direction to the staff and work alongside others to assist on training and development programs for our journalists. This role comes with a mandate to uphold POLITICO’s editorial values and commitment to authoritative, nonpartisan and tough‑mindedly fair journalism. This position may be based in either Brussels or London, but this editor should be able to collaborate comfortably with teams across Europe, North America and Australia.
