POLITICO Europe seeks an experienced editor to lead our global standards and ethics efforts, guiding reporters and editors through sourcing, reporting questions and post-publication issues. The role includes final edits on sensitive material and shaping newsroom policies and style guidance.

The senior editor will train staff, collaborate with teams across Europe, North America and Australia, and uphold POLITICO’s values of authoritative, nonpartisan journalism. Brussels or London base preferred.

Qualifications

• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to resolve ethical questions
• Experience editing sensitive or complex stories preferred
• Ability to collaborate with reporters and editors across teams

Responsabilités

• Provide hands-on editing guidance on reporting and pre-publication review
• Offer final edits on sensitive content across stories, blogs or newsletters
• Address post-publication questions and resolve journalistic concerns internally and externally
• Help write and update newsroom policies and style entries
• Contribute to training programs for POLITICO journalists
• Ensure quality controls across the newsroom
