Job summary
Villeroy & Boch Group seeks a Head of R&D – Showering to lead the development of smart premium showering products. Based in Brussels, the role requires weekly presence in Wittlich, Germany, and travel to suppliers across Europe and Asia.
You will guide a multidisciplinary team spanning mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and digital domains. You will drive ideation to industrialization, ensuring performance, design, sustainability and connectivity aspects are integrated.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 10–15+ years in R&D leadership roles in related industries.
- Strong grasp of fluids, materials, and mechatronics; IP contribution evidence.
Responsibilities
- Lead R&D strategy for the showering category aligned with brand and sustainability goals.
- Oversee conceptualization, development, and design of taps and components considering regs and costs.
- Drive innovation in water delivery, spray, thermal comfort, hygiene, and connectivity.
- Perform analyses, simulations, and calculations to optimize design and functionality.
- Build prototypes and conduct tests to validate designs and identify improvements.
- Create technical documentation, reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with product management, production, sales, design, and QA.
- Build and mentor a global R&D team and foster technical excellence.
