Arendt & Medernach is recruiting a Group Financial Controller to strengthen the Finance function across the Firm’s international offices. Reporting to the CFO, the role focuses on building scalable financial governance and robust reporting, with a dedicated emphasis on foreign offices.

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional with a degree in finance, accounting, audit, or related discipline.
• Proven ability to supervise at least one finance team member while remaining hands‑on in daily operations.
• Experience in financial control, audit or group reporting within a professional services, law firm, or multi‑entity international environment.
• Experience with treasury management, tax compliance, transfer pricing, and financial consolidation in a multi‑GAAP environment.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, process improvement, and finance governance frameworks.
• Hands‑on, structured, and pragmatic mindset with ability to build processes in a newly created role.
• Experience in cross‑functional roles with multiple stakeholders across offices and seniority levels.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French would be an advantage.
• High standards of integrity, discretion, and professionalism suitable for a law firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead treasury management activities with a small team, monitor cash flow, plan liquidity, manage banking relationships and controls.
• Oversee monthly accounting close and ensure timely, accurate group management reporting, including foreign offices.
• Design and implement the group consolidation process, methodology, timetable, reporting framework and controls.
• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations including accounting, statutory and tax obligations.
• Review and redesign transfer pricing policies to align with regulatory and business needs.
• Improve and standardize finance processes across the group to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Manage relationships with external service providers (accountants, tax advisers, auditors) and act as key finance contact for foreign offices.
