g2 Recruitment is seeking a Freelance Senior Accountant to join a client in Brussels, offering a hybrid/remote arrangement. You will manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate reporting.

Responsibilities include month-end close, VAT returns, statutory accounts, budgeting, and supporting audits. Belgian GAAP knowledge and ERP experience are essential; English fluency required, Dutch or French a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with Belgian GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure Belgian tax compliance.
• Support statutory accounts and financial statements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Assist audits with required documentation.
• Collaborate with finance and other teams to improve reporting.
