Responsibilities include month-end close, VAT returns, statutory accounts, budgeting, and supporting audits. Belgian GAAP knowledge and ERP experience are essential; English fluency required, Dutch or French a plus.

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with Belgian GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French a plus.

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Accountant to join our client's finance team. This role is perfect for someone with a strong accounting background who can manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting and support the wider finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance with local accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with Belgian tax regulations.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation.
• Work closely with the finance team and other departments to improve financial processes and reporting.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Good understanding of Belgian GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in English. Dutch and/or French is a plus.
