Michael Page zoekt een Senior Accountant voor de Brusselse vestiging in een internationale handels- en supply chain‑omgeving. U werkt nauw samen met een Shared Service Center en diverse stakeholders in Europa aan afsluitingen, btw‑naleving en rapportage.

De ideale kandidaat heeft minimaal 4 jaar ervaring, sterke kennis van Belgische GAAP en is vloeiend in Engels en Frans. Nederlands is een plus. Een hybride werkomgeving (tot 40% thuiswerk) wordt geboden en doorgroeimogelijkheden zijn aanwezig.

Qualifications

• Bachelor diploma in Accounting, Finance of een verwante richting.
• Minimaal 4 jaar ervaring in accounting in een internationale of B2B‑omgeving.
• Sterke kennis van Belgische GAAP en btw‑regelgeving.
• Ervaring met statutory accounting en externe audits.
• Kennis van SAP S/4HANA is een plus.
• Vloeiend Engels en Frans; Nederlands is een plus.
• Analytisch, detailgericht en procesgericht.
• Goede samenwerking met meerdere stakeholders in een internationale omgeving.

Responsabilités

• Beheren van maand- en jaarafsluitingen inclusief accruals en reconciliaties.
• Optreden als accounting referentiepunt voor de vennootschap in België.
• Verantwoordelijk voor btw‑naleving en fiscale verslaglegging in verschillende landen.
• Coördineren van interne- en externe audits en opstellen van jaarrekeningen.
• Samenwerken met business teams voor accounting- en fiscale adviezen.
• Zorgdragen voor naleving van regelgeving en interne controles.
• Identificeren van procesverbeteringen en digitaliseringsprojecten.

Senior Accountant in Brussels - International company

As Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of accounting operations, compliance, and financial reporting within an international business environment. Working closely with a Shared Service Center and stakeholders across Europe, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews;
• Acting as the accounting reference point for the Belgian entity and overseeing the quality of accounting transactions processed by the Shared Service Center;
• Taking ownership of VAT compliance, tax-related reporting, and statutory obligations across multiple European jurisdictions;
• Coordinating annual audits and supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements;
• Partnering with business teams to provide accounting and tax guidance on commercial and operational activities;
• Ensuring compliance with local regulations, internal controls, and group accounting policies;
• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives;
• Contributing to digitization and automation projects, including the adoption of innovative technologies and AI-driven solutions;

Profiel

We are looking for a collaborative and flexible professional who enjoys taking ownership and working in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with a strong process improvement mindset and has an interest in digital transformation and emerging technologies such as AI.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience within an international or B2B environment;
• Strong understanding of Belgian GAAP and VAT regulations;
• Experience with statutory accounting and external audits;
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or SAP Hana is considered a strong asset;
• Fluent in English and French; Dutch is a plus;
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and process-minded;
• Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in an international environment;
• Proactive, hands-on, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives;
