Vivid Resourcing is seeking a freelance Java Developer in Antwerp to join the Daily Banking team. You will maintain, develop, and test Java backend services critical to payment systems, integrating with external partners and internal apps. You will contribute to the cloud modernization using AKS and Terraform.

The role requires 3+ years in Java/Spring, Azure experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with Java and the Spring Framework.
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
• Knowledge of financial systems and integration platforms such as Sopra is a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

For a customer in Antwerp, we are searching for a freelance Java Developer to work in the Daily Banking team and play a key role in maintaining, developing, and testing Java backend services that are essential to their payment systems. These services are strongly integrated with external partners as well as internally developed applications.

You will also be actively involved in our current modernization program, in which we are migrating our application to a new cloud environment—Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)—using Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Architect and Functional Analyst to design a robust solution that fits within the existing IT landscape.
• Integrate with external systems such as Sopra and Worldline to ensure seamless transaction processing.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum team following the SAFe framework.
• Ensure quality by participating in the testing of delivered code.
• Continuously improve the codebase and processes through code reviews, automation, and the implementation of best practices.
