V-IT NV seeks a Senior Java Developer to lead cross-team Java development and release coordination. The role focuses on shaping the architecture, mentoring teams, and driving the migration from WebLogic to Spring Boot microservices.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Java 11/21 experience, Spring Boot expertise, and cloud know-how, with a proactive, decisive approach to delivering robust software solutions.

Senior Java Developer Position

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Long-term assignment

Location: Brussels

Responsibilities:

• Sprint Support & Team Guidance:
  • Support and coach junior/medior colleagues to develop clean and maintainable solutions.
  • Review code and maintain technical standards.
  • Lead Java development and release/test coordination across two teams.
  • Combine structured decision-making with creative problem-solving and decisive execution.
  • Provide technical support during user story refinement.
  • Set up the foundation for new microservices and the skeleton for complex flows.
  • Follow-up and fix security vulnerabilities.
• Cross-Team Long-Term Architecture:
  • Take a leading role in maintaining the roadmap to transition from the current WebLogic application to Spring Boot microservices, in collaboration with other Technical Leads and the Solution Architect.
  • Ensure architectural choices are scalable, maintainable, secure, performant, and vendor-independent.
  • Balance short-term sprint needs with long-term vision.
  • Participate in technical governance across teams.
