Pauwels Consulting is seeking an experienced Test Leader to drive testing activities for critical operational planning systems in Brussels. You will oversee end-to-end testing, including functional and non-functional aspects, test automation, and risk-based strategies across distributed teams.

The role demands 10+ years in testing leadership, strong Playwright/ReadyAPI skills, and proficiency with Jira/Xray/Confluence/Azure DevOps/SQL, plus an ISTQB certification.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as a Test Coordinator, Test Lead, or Test Manager within software testing.
• Deep experience in public transport planning processes.
• Proven track record coordinating functional and non-functional testing, including test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and ReadyAPI from direct projects.
• Advanced proficiency with Jira, Xray, Confluence, Azure DevOps and SQL.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.
• Experience QA/QC of security systems and ITIL processes.
• Experience staffing, recruitment, and coordinating distributed testing teams.
• Fluent in English with a C1 level of Dutch or French.

Our client, a major player in the public transport sector, is seeking an experienced professional to lead testing activities for critical operational planning systems. The role involves coordinating the end-to-end testing lifecycle for complex resource management solutions, focusing on the planning of essential transport personnel and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end testing lifecycle from early testability reviews through to release readiness.
• Translate project risks and functional requirements into comprehensive, actionable test strategies and approaches.
• Coordinate the definition, planning, and execution of both functional and non-functional testing activities, including test automation.
• Oversee resource planning, capacity management, and staffing for multidisciplinary testing teams.
• Monitor testing progress and defect management while providing concise reporting to stakeholders.
• Ensure the readiness of test environments, data, and tooling for parallel project streams.
• Collaborate with release and change management bodies to maintain high quality control standards.

Requirements

• You bring 10+ years of experience as a Test Coordinator, Test Lead, or Test Manager within a career of at least 15 years in software testing.
• You possess deep professional experience in the public transport sector, specifically regarding planning processes.
• You have a proven track record in coordinating both functional and non-functional testing activities, including test automation.
• You bring hands-on operational experience with Playwright and ReadyAPI from direct project involvement.
• You have advanced proficiency with Jira, Xray, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and SQL.
• You possess a valid ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.
• You have experience managing the quality assurance and quality control of security systems and ITIL processes.
• You bring experience in staffing, recruitment, and coordination of distributed testing teams.
• You are fluent in English with a C1 level of Dutch or French.

Nice to Haves

• Experience establishing test organizations in both Waterfall and Agile delivery environments.
• Previous experience as a Project Manager responsible for coordinating large-scale testing activities.
• Professional experience coordinating testing activities within BSS and OSS environments.
