Job summary

Centrica’s EnergisedFutures incubator in Antwerp and London is seeking an experienced R&I Manager (Automation) to lead a team of research engineers, own the automation strategy and deliver high‑impact research outputs for a greener, fairer energy future.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across Centrica, academia and startups, travel between Belgium and the UK, and drive digitisation and AI‑based energy solutions with a strong data‑science background.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing complex ML models or algorithms.
• PhD plus 2+ years or Master’s +4+ years of research/industry experience.
• Experience with ML libraries, frameworks and services.
• Strong math and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a team of research engineers
• Ensuring reliable delivery of high-quality research and innovation outputs
• Owning the Energised Futures strategy around the automation pillar
• Collaborating with stakeholders across Centrica, energy industry, startups and academia
• Supporting the wider business to adopt and deploy outputs to maximise impact
• Monitor and engage with industry and academia via conferences and journals
