Centrica plc is seeking a Research & Innovation Manager for AI, data, and automation to lead a high-calibre team of researchers in Antwerp and London. You will own the strategy for automation, deliver cutting-edge models, and collaborate with industry, startups, and academia to scale applications in the energy sector.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years designing ML algorithms, PhD or Master with substantial research, and strong Python/ML library experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing complex ML algorithms or models in a research/industry setting.
• PhD plus 2+ years or Master plus 4+ years of relevant experience in CS/EE/Control or related field.
• Proficiency with ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and model serving platforms.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with other languages a bonus.
• Strong math/analytic mindset and energy industry familiarity preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead and mentor a team of research engineers on automation projects.
• Own the strategy and roadmap for the automation pillar in Energised Futures.
• Deliver high-quality research outputs and engage with academia and industry.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Centrica and external partners.
• Support deployment of outputs to maximise business impact.
