Job summary

CDH Professionals Inc is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and platforms. You will collaborate with analysts, architects, stakeholders and development teams to ensure data is accessible, accurate and ready for reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities include ETL/ELT development, data modeling, cloud-based data work (Azure), and writing optimized SQL and Python scripts for data processing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a data-focused engineering role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Experience with Python for data processing and automation.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data modelling and data quality principles.
• Experience with Git, version control and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Build and optimise data integrations from multiple internal and external sources.
• Develop and maintain data models for analytics, reporting and BI.
• Work with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Write and optimise SQL queries and Python scripts for data processing and transformation.
• Monitor data quality, integrity, performance and reliability.
• Implement automated data validation, testing and error-handling processes.
• Collaborate with BI teams and analysts to deliver trusted datasets.
• Document data architectures, pipelines and technical processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering standards and practices.
