Job summary

eXalt, a leading transformation partner, is seeking a Data Engineer to bridge business and IT in a major program. You will design data pipelines, integrate multi-source data, and optimize performance in a cloud environment.

The role requires 5+ years of production experience, Databricks mastery, strong SQL and Python, and ability to collaborate with bilingual teams in French and English. This permanent position is based in Brussels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as Data Engineer in production environments.
• Proven mastery of Databricks (clusters, notebooks, performance optimization).
• Advanced SQL expertise and Python for complex pipeline development.
• Cloud environment Azure or AWS with preference for Azure ecosystem.
• Transformation tools: DBT, Spark, or equivalents depending on project context.
• Excellent communicator able to effectively interact with both business and technical profiles.
• Autonomy and ability to take initiative in demanding project environments.
• Resilience and diplomacy to navigate complex organizational contexts.
• Synthesis skills to document and present technical solutions in an accessible manner.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and evolving project scope.
• Agile/Scrum methodology with frequent Product Owner and Scrum Master interactions.
• Multicultural team operating in French and English.
• Fast-paced project rhythm requiring good stress and priority management.
• High quality standards with rigorous review and validation processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, high-performance data pipelines in a modern cloud environment
• Multi-source integration: extraction, transformation, and loading from heterogeneous systems (SAP, relational databases, APIs, files)
• Performance optimization and implementation of best practices on existing data architecture
• Close collaboration with business teams to translate business requirements into appropriate technical solutions
• Process automation and implementation of reliable orchestration workflows
• Technical documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams
• Active participation in agile ceremonies and contribution to continuous process improvement
