Next Ventures seeks a seasoned Azure Cloud Architect to design enterprise-grade platforms and guide teams in governance and security. The role blends hands-on engineering with architectural discipline in a regulated financial environment.

Candidates should be able to operate across architecture, engineering, governance, and DevOps, mentoring teams while enforcing standards. Based in Belgium, 8 days/month on-site in Brussels, with a day-rate for a long-term engagement.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Azure across compute, networking, identity, storage, security and resilience.
• Hands-on with Terraform, Azure DevOps pipelines and GitOps principles.
• Proven ability to design multi-region, DR-ready architectures with governance.
• Experience shaping landing zones, RBAC and enterprise guardrails.
• Security-focused design including zero trust, encryption and segmentation.
• Ability to diagnose cross-service issues in large Azure environments.
• Proven track record aligning architecture with security and infra domains.
• Clear documentation of standards, designs and training materials.

A highly experienced Azure architect who has designed enterprise-grade, secure, resilient cloud platforms. Someone who can operate confidently across architecture, engineering, governance, and DevOps, and who is comfortable mentoring teams while enforcing standards.

Technical Excellence

• Azure mastery — Expert-level knowledge of Azure services across compute, networking, identity, storage, security, and resilience.
• Infrastructure as Code — Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps pipelines, GitOps, automation patterns.
• Resilient architecture — Proven ability to design multi-region, fault-tolerant, DR-ready architectures with clear RTO/RPO strategies.
• Cloud governance — Deep understanding of landing zones, policies, RBAC, compliance, and enterprise guardrails.
• Security architecture — Strong grasp of identity, encryption, network segmentation, zero trust, and secure-by-design principles.
• Troubleshooting — Ability to diagnose complex cross-service issues in large-scale Azure environments.
