Salt is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer/Architect in Brussels for a hybrid contract. You will design and implement secure, scalable Azure cloud-native and hybrid solutions, collaborating across DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams while driving governance and standards.

The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural leadership. You will mentor engineers, evolve the cloud platform, and contribute to resilience, DR, and multi-region strategies, ensuring continuity and robust

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in complex enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Strong governance and security understanding for enterprise clouds.
• Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity and RTO/RPO.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead architectural discussions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Sec, Network).

Responsabilités

• Design and implement secure, scalable, highly available and resilient Azure cloud-native and hybrid solutions.
• Support application and DevOps teams with cloud architecture, technical design and implementation.
• Translate architectural, security and resilience requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Define and maintain cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, reusable patterns and engineering best practices.
• Drive adoption of cloud governance, security controls and operational excellence across engineering teams.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions using Terraform, Azure DevOps and Azure-native capabilities.
• Support and continuously evolve the Azure cloud platform and its capabilities.
• Design architectures supporting business continuity, disaster recovery, fault tolerance and operational resilience.
• Contribute to resilience frameworks covering RTO/RPO, recovery strategies, multi-region architectures and resilience testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges across multiple Azure services and platform components.
• Participate in architecture reviews, governance boards and security assessments.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote strong cloud engineering practices.
• Maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, guidance and training materials.

Senior Azure Cloud Engineer / Architect

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Contract: Contract

Working arrangement: Hybrid - 8 days per month onsite in Brussels

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer / Architect to join a large-scale European financial services organisation in Brussels.

This is a senior technical role combining cloud engineering, architecture and platform expertise.

You will work closely with application and DevOps teams, as well as Enterprise, Security, Infrastructure, Network and Solution Architects, to design and implement secure, scalable, highly available and resilient cloud solutions.

The role offers the opportunity to influence cloud architecture and engineering standards while remaining technically hands‑on.

Key Responsibilities

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience working with Microsoft Azure in complex enterprise environments.
• Proven experience across both Azure cloud engineering and cloud architecture.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly Terraform.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps and cloud automation.
• Experience designing highly available, resilient and secure cloud architectures.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance and enterprise architecture principles.
• Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, fault tolerance and operational resilience.
• Understanding of RTO/RPO requirements and multi‑region Azure architectures.
• Experience working across application, DevOps, infrastructure, network and security teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills across Azure platforms.
• Experience contributing to architecture reviews, technical governance and design standards.
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.

Working Arrangement

The role is based in Brussels and requires 8 days per month onsite.

The 8 onsite days are flexible and can be split across the month according to your preference, providing a good balance between collaboration and remote working.
