Job summary

Jan De Nul Group is seeking an HSE Manager for region Charleroi to lead health, safety and environmental compliance on construction projects. You will act as the main contact for HSE with the client, lead the project team, and implement policies in line with Jan De Nul's QHSSE standards.

You will monitor HSE performance, supervise site inspections and safety rounds, and drive proactive audits. Fluency in English and French is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental management, safety management, construction, mechanics, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience as a Prevention Advisor (HSE) in construction.
• Good command of English and French; Dutch is an added value.
• Communicative and socially skilled; capable of coaching others effectively.
• You can set priorities, plan efficiently, and meet deadlines.
• You are assertive and able to push back when needed; you speak up on unsafe situations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Single Point of Contact for HSE toward the client and report on HSE on site.
• Communicate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Align with client contractual HSE expectations and ensure they are met.
• Develop and implement policies and structures meeting HSE requirements and Jan De Nul's QHSSE policy.
• Monitor HSE policy implementation and identify actions to maintain performance.
• Manage project team members performing site inspections, safety rounds, and admin duties.
• Follow up on client HSE audits and ensure closure.
• Conduct proactive audits to improve EHS standards.
• Organize coaching sessions for workers on critical topics.
