Breed Bio is seeking a Bioinformatics Engineer passionate about turning science into scalable software. You will design and implement pipelines, analyze data, and help productize research into reliable tools for high-throughput biology.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, apply genomic techniques in trait discovery, and contribute to open-source and internal pipelines. A strong English background and ownership mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology, genomics, bioengineering or biotechnology.
• Demonstrated drive, ownership, and goal-oriented mindset.
• Experience with Python and R; practical knowledge of Docker and Unix environments.
• Experience with open-source libraries and computational pipelines.
• Experience with applied genomics techniques in trait discovery (QTL, MAS, GS).
• Experience with BLAST or similar tools; understanding assay design and off-target analysis.
• Fluency in English; strong communication skills.
• High standards for self, colleagues, tech stack, and company vision.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to Breed Bio’s software platform by designing, writing, testing and reviewing high quality code and scripts.
• Contribute to customer-specific projects, building computational biology pipelines and performing data analysis.
• Convert scientific literature into productized solutions using open-source libraries and proprietary implementations.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to understand requirements and stay updated on new technologies.
