In4Matic is seeking a versatile Data Platform Engineer to design and operate a cloud-native environment that supports reliable, scalable data services. You will blend platform operations, automation, and software development to deliver high quality, governable data solutions.

The role emphasizes strong Python/Shell scripting, IaC with Terraform, and proficiency with AWS, Kubernetes, and Snowflake management.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Python and Shell scripting.
• Practical knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Deep understanding of AWS cloud services and architecture.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS in production environments.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain automation and tooling using Python and Shell scripting.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform.
• Work across core AWS services, including networking, IAM, compute, and storage.
• Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot containerized applications on Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
• Build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, using Git-based workflows and preferably Bitbucket.
• Support Snowflake administration, including security configuration, RBAC, privileges, resource hierarchy, and object lifecycle management.
• Provision and manage Snowflake resources through Terraform, supporting automated environment setup, access management, and governance.
• Apply solid software engineering practices such as version control, code reviews, testing, automation, and operational excellence.

Our client is looking for a versatile data platform engineer to help build and operate a cloud-native environment that supports reliable, scalable data services. This opportunity combines platform engineering, automation, infrastructure, and software development, with a strong focus on operational quality and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation and tooling using Python and Shell scripting.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform.
• Work across core AWS services, including networking, IAM, compute, and storage.
• Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot containerized applications on Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.

• Good understanding of best practices in DevOps and platform engineering.

Practical Information

• Preferred languages: fluent Dutch and fluent English.
• Experience with Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem is a plus.
• Knowledge of Apache Kafka and event‑driven architectures is also considered an advantage.
