Vivid Resourcing is seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Platform Engineer to join a Brussels-based data platform team on a freelance, long-term contract. The role focuses on building and automating a secure, scalable cloud-native platform using AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and Snowflake.

You will collaborate with data engineers, software developers, DevOps and security teams to automate infrastructure provisioning and support data solutions deployment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Platform Engineer or similar.
• Strong Python and Shell scripting skills.
• Hands-on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Deep AWS knowledge (IAM, networking, compute, storage).
• Solid Kubernetes and Amazon EKS experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Git knowledge; Bitbucket preferred.
• Snowflake administration including RBAC and security.
• Experience provisioning Snowflake via Terraform.
• Automation of platform provisioning and security governance.

For a leading organisation in the postal and logistics sector, I am looking for an experienced Full Stack Data Platform Engineer to join its Data Platform team on a freelance basis.

The organisation operates a cloud-native data platform that supports business-critical data products and applications across multiple departments. The role focuses on building, automating and operating secure and scalable platform infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and Snowflake.

You will work closely with data engineers, software developers, DevOps specialists and security teams to improve platform reliability, automate infrastructure provisioning and support the deployment of data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate a cloud-native data platform within the AWS ecosystem
• Develop automation and platform tooling using Python and Shell scripting
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform
• Deploy and maintain containerised applications on Kubernetes and Amazon EKS
• Design, develop and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines
• Manage source code and development workflows using Git and Bitbucket
• Support AWS services across networking, IAM, compute and storage
• Administer Snowflake environments, including RBAC, privileges and security
• Provision Snowflake resources and permissions through Terraform
• Automate environment creation and platform configuration
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise platform components
• Improve platform security, governance, scalability and operational reliability
• Apply software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews and version control
• Collaborate with data, software, infrastructure and security stakeholders

Profile

• Strong experience as a Data Platform Engineer, Cloud Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer or similar
• Advanced knowledge of Python and Shell scripting
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong understanding of AWS, including IAM, networking, compute and storage
• Solid experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of Git, preferably Bitbucket
• Experience administering Snowflake
• Good understanding of Snowflake security, RBAC, privileges and resource hierarchy
• Experience provisioning Snowflake resources using Terraform
• Strong knowledge of platform automation and cloud security principles
• Good understanding of software engineering and DevOps best practices
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
• Able to work effectively within a cross-functional engineering environment

Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, event-driven architecture or other cloud-native data technologies would be considered an advantage.
