eXalt in Belgium is hiring an experienced Data Engineer to join a permanent contract and transform a leading energy company's Retail Data Platform. You will design end-to-end AWS data pipelines and develop scalable Data Products for AI, BI and data integration.

Join a cloud-first environment with Snowflake, dbt, PySpark and Airflow, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to CI/CD and data governance in an Agile setup.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong expertise in Advanced SQL.
• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, PySpark and Apache Airflow.
• Hands-on experience building cloud data platforms on AWS.
• Knowledge of Data Vault and dimensional modelling.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, JSON and Parquet.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Iceberg, CDC, APIs, Qlik or DataHub is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English. French or Dutch is a plus.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Architects, Business stakeholders and Agile Scrum teams.
• Contribute to CI/CD, peer reviews, testing and continuous improvement.

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join us on a permanent contract and contribute to the transformation of a leading energy company's Retail Data Platform. You will work on strategic data initiatives, designing and delivering cloud-native Data Products while building scalable, high-quality data pipelines in a modern AWS environment.

Your role

• Design and develop end-to-end batch and near real-time data pipelines on AWS.
• Build reusable Data Products supporting AI, Business Intelligence and data integration use cases.
• Design and implement ELT pipelines using dbt, PySpark and Snowflake.
• Model data using Data Vault and dimensional modelling methodologies.
• Orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow and AWS services including S3, Glue, Athena, AppFlow and DMS.
• Ensure data quality, governance, scalability and performance.
