Job summary

Alstom in Charleroi is seeking a full-time ATC System Designer to apply system engineering expertise in automatic train control. You will design trackside and trainborne ATC architectures and lead design reviews with diverse teams to ensure readiness for testing.

Collaborate with Verification and Validation, project deployment, and other engineering functions; allocate requirements and investigate test failures to drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Degree in System Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience or understanding of system specification and requirements development.
• Knowledge of Automatic Train Control (ATC) systems, including trackside and trainborne components.
• Familiarity with defect analysis and proposing corrective solutions.
• Strong understanding of software engineering methods and tools for configuring ATC software.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work transversally with engineering teams, demonstrating autonomy and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Design ATC systems and provide related documentation (specifications, architectures, interfaces).
• Lead ATC design reviews and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Ensure ATC configurations are completed and ready for testing.
• Collaborate with Verification and Validation teams to address test outcomes.
• Define and assess interfaces within the ATC system.
• Balance technical risks and evaluate design trade-offs.
