Job summary

Alstom is seeking a full-time Radio Bloc Centre - ETCS System Designer for Charleroi. You will analyze and define RBC core logic, write system specs, and ensure traceability across engineering teams.

The role focuses on ETCS Level 2 trackside functionality, RBC design, and integration with software and verification teams. The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in engineering, be fluent in English, have knowledge of railway signalling, and collaborate across disciplines at our

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering or equivalent (Master’s level required).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex functional scenarios into clear and structured system requirements.
• Ability to write rigorous technical specifications in English.
• Knowledge of railway signalling, ETCS/RBC functionality is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing project gaps, Change Requests and Evolution Requests to identify the underlying functional need.
• Developing functional scenarios and defining clear, consistent and testable system requirements.
• Assessing the functional, safety, software and operational impacts of proposed changes.
• Writing and maintaining system specifications and technical documentation, ensuring subsystem baseline coherence and end-to-end requirements traceability.
• Collaborating with Software, Verification & Validation, Safety, Certification and Project teams.
• Contributing to system design reviews and supporting implementation, validation and deployment.
