Job summary

Alstom in Charleroi is seeking a Software Architect/Developer to design and implement software components for railway projects. You will work with architects, hardware designers, and QA managers to ensure high-quality solutions and drive innovation in development processes.

The role emphasizes software component design, coding, testing, integration, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to contribute across functions and countries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related field
• Knowledge of software architecture and component design
• Experience with testing and verification processes
• Strong written and verbal communication in English; French desirable; German an asset
• Ability to collaborate across engineering teams and lead initiatives
• Experience with concurrent engineering practices

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software architects to elaborate software specifications and architecture
• Perform detailed design and coding of software components
• Set up and maintain the software development toolchain
• Specify, design, and perform tests and verifications for deliverables
• Manage software work products under configuration control
• Support software/hardware integration activities
• Drive continuous improvement and stay updated on technology trends
