Alstom in Charleroi is seeking a System Designer RBC_ETCS to contribute to the RBC-ETCS program within rail signalling. You’ll analyse change requests, assess impact, and work with software, safety and certification teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

You’ll collaborate across functions to ensure coherent, traceable designs and document outcomes in SyRS, while supporting cross-functional teams for successful deployments in a dynamic, international rail environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience or understanding of system design and system engineering.
• Knowledge of railways signalling systems or similar safety-critical systems.
• Familiarity with modelling methods such as UML, SADT, SysML, or Matlab.
• A strong ability to write clear, rigorous, and concise documentation in English.
• Basic programming skills.
• Experience with requirement traceability tools like DOORS.

• Analyse change requests (CRs) and their impact on existing products.
• Propose and document optimal solutions for system redesigns.
• Support cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
• Analyse customer needs and evaluate proposals to optimise development.
