Job summary

Huxley seeks an AR/AP Accountant to join a Finance Operations team on a year-long mission (3 months renewed) in the Brussels region. The role emphasizes reducing aging balances and improving AP/AR processes across complex, high-volume transactions, with offshore collaboration.

Responsibilities include reconciliations, invoice validation, and data extraction for audits. Requires 3–5 years in AR/AP, strong SAP/Excel skills, and French & Dutch proficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or Finance Operations.
• Solid experience managing third-party accounts and performing account reconciliations.
• Experience in complex and high-volume transactional environments.
• Strong knowledge of SAP (mandatory).
• Good command of Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Experience in automotive, leasing, fleet management, or financial services is considered a strong asset.
• Professional proficiency in French & Dutch.
• Analytical, autonomous and hands-on approach.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes and propose improvements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze customer and supplier accounts, focusing on open items and aging balances (60+ and 90+ days).
• Follow up with dealers and stakeholders to reconcile outstanding transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Process, review and validate invoices, credit notes, and payment transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate accounting differences.
• Ensure accurate recording and follow-up of incoming and outgoing payments.
• Collaborate with offshore AP and AR teams and monitor service quality and efficiency.
• Support audit requests with data extraction and financial analysis.
• Contribute to month-end activities and prepare relevant financial information.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation and efficiencies.
• Participate in initiatives to enhance AP/AR workflows and strengthen controls.
