Zymofix in Belgium is seeking a hands-on Accounting, Controlling & Billing Officer to join our growing team. You will manage day-to-day accounting, invoicing, and financial reporting while supporting budgeting and forecasting.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, strong Dutch and English skills, and a proactive, autonomous work style in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, controlling, or billing.
• Solid knowledge of Belgian accounting standards and VAT regulations.
• Proactive self-starter capable of working independently in a fast-moving environment.

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day accounting tasks including accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
• Own the billing cycle end-to-end: generate and send customer invoices, monitor payment terms, follow up on outstanding balances, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and support the annual audit process.
• Develop and maintain controlling processes, including cost tracking, margin analysis, and variance reporting against budget.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist with VAT filings and other statutory obligations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes in close collaboration with management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
• Monitor cash flow and support working capital management.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

We are looking for a hands‑on and detail‑oriented Accounting, Controlling & Billing Officer to join our growing team at Zymofix. You will play a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly and accurately as we scale.

The ideal candidate combines solid accounting knowledge with a strong controlling mindset and a keen eye for accurate billing and invoicing. You thrive in a dynamic startup environment where initiative and versatility are valued. You will work closely with management and act as the go‑to person for financial administration, controlling, and billing.

The role requires strong organizational skills, a high degree of autonomy, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

• Solid knowledge of Belgian accounting standards and VAT regulations.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Allegro or similar) and MS Office (Excel in particular). Experience with Notion is a plus.
• High level of accuracy, discretion, and organizational skills.
• You are a proactive self‑starter who can work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, particularly around numbers and financial data.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in Dutch and English (French is a plus).
