Connect Northern Rivers Inc in Coffs Harbour is seeking a Youth Engagement Coordinator for a 12-month parental leave cover. The role focuses on helping young people aged 15 to 21 reconnect with education, employment or training, with a focus on practical support and goal setting.

The position is based in Coffs Harbour, part-time (48–72 hours per fortnight) with regional travel across the North Coast. Salary sacrifice options are available through our charitable status.

Formación

Work It Out Program | Connect Northern Rivers

We're looking for a Youth Engagement Coordinator to join our Coffs Harbour team in a temporary parental leave cover position, anticipated to run for 12 months.

Help young people take their next steps towards education, training and employment.

We're looking for a Youth Engagement Coordinator who can build genuine connections with young people, understand their goals and provide practical support to help them move forward.

Based in Coffs Harbour, you'll deliver our Work It Out program, supporting young people aged 15 to 21 to reconnect with education, employment or further training and stay engaged for 26 weeks.

About the role

You'll work alongside young people and their families to understand what matters to them, identify barriers and develop individual career and transition plans.

Your role will include:

• Providing individual case management and ongoing practical support.
• Helping young people address challenges affecting their participation in education, training or work.
• Connecting young people and their families with appropriate support services.
• Building relationships with schools, training providers, community organisations and other youth services.
• Working with employers to create opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment.
• Promoting the program and encouraging referrals across the region.
• Keeping accurate records of participant progress and the support provided.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Builds trust and connects well with young people and their families.
• Takes a practical, respectful approach to helping people work through challenges.
• Can support young people to set goals and take achievable steps towards them.
• Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with employers and community partners.
• Manages their workload and maintains accurate records.
• Is comfortable travelling throughout the Coffs Coast and North Coast region.
• Location: Based in Coffs Harbour, with regular regional travel.
• Employment type: Part time, 48 to 72 hours per fortnight.
• Classification: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, Level 3, Pay Point 4.
• Reports to: Program Manager.
